OUR MISSION
The mission of Liberty Baptist is to experience God through Jesus Christ, grow through Bible study and prayer, celebrate God in Worship, win the lost, make disciples, and provide a home of love and fellowship to the believer.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Pastor Ted & Jenny Aschenbrand
I was raised in a Christian home and made a personal decision to trust Christ as my Savior at a young age. I felt a calling into ministry as a teen and graduated from Piedmont Bible College with a youth ministry degree.
Following advice from my pastor and parents, I attended Pensacola Christian College to pursue a Masters in Biblical Exposition. There, I met my wife Jenny who graduated with a Bible degree and a mission’s minor. God is allowing Jenny to use her Bible and teaching degrees to teach Bible in middle school and high school classes through our local Rockingham Council of the Bible. She loves getting to teach children about God’s Word both here in our church and in her classroom.
I love studying and teaching and preaching God’s Word, and I love counseling and encouraging people in their walk with the Lord. I desire our church to be a place where people can grow spiritually, develop their spiritual gifts and serve the body of Christ, and where God’s grace is evident in our love for each other and our burden to reach others with the gospel.
OUR CORE BELIEFS
We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures are the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God and are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed and are, therefore, the final authority for faith and life.
We believe in one triune God, eternally in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, was born of the virgin Mary, so that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. Jesus Christ accomplished/our redemption through His death on the cross as a vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and judgment; and, that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but that in Adam's sin humans fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Man is depraved and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
We believe that once a person is saved, he is kept by God's power and remains secure in Christ forever.
We believe in that blessed hope, the personal, imminent return of Christ, who will rapture His church before the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom, which was promised to the nation of Israel.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, when in conscious bliss they wait the first resurrection when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord.
